LoginThink about it, it is the world's weirdest writing project. Even stranger than Facebook or even Instagram. The stakes are both high and extremely low. Here are a few key concepts. Before I show you some great profiles, I want to stress one thing: a great profile is the one that attracts the person you're trying to meet. Sometimes even a blank space can do this.
The success of any online dating platform starts with creating an impressively attractive profile. Loads of users sign up for dating sites in the hope of finding a perfect match, but many fail because they can't create an attention-grabbing dating profile to get a good match. How you describe yourself through your bio and dating profile description can make or break your future on a dating app because it reflects who you are and what you prioritize the most. But most profiles on dating apps make the mistake of creating boring or stupid descriptions that result in fewer likes and worse-quality potential matches.
If you are looking for love online, a great profile is key. Of course you need compelling photos, but those who are looking for a real relationship will look beyond a pretty face to find out what you are about. It would be nice if everyone could give you the benefit of the doubt and magically see what a fascinating, unique, loving person you are, but that's not how online dating works. A generic profile that doesn't say much or says the wrong things will be overlooked by the very people you truly hope to connect with.
With that in mind, here are some simple tips for writing an engaging dating profile to attract your ideal person. Write your profile offline. It can be less daunting that way and you can tweak it more easily, keep an eye on character count, and save it for using across different dating apps. Then go back through the list and expand with the Five Ws aka expand into details that are personal to you.
