The venue facilitates interactions for newcomers and legacy companies to promote their latest products and technological advancements. The conference focus has always evolved along with the technologies and this year was no different. The fixed time frame allows attendees to get the basic preliminary information from multiple vendors in a market vertical before getting too involved in booth demos. This allows one to quickly cover a certain market segment before deciding on which vendor they are most interested in pursuing to do a deeper dive. There were several white boarding sessions allowing vendors to explain how their solutions deliver Cloud and SDN services.

I arrived on the singles scene in with an aching heart and a lot to learn. Seemingly overnight, dating apps had shifted from the desperate domain of the overs to the new normal. Every man and his dog were on Tinder — or every man and his sedated tiger, all dumb grins and flexed muscles bulging out of Bintang singlets. Initially hesitant, I got into the swing of it soon enough; window-shopping for boys from the comfort of your couch sure has its benefits, and amongst the beefed-up bodybuilders and BDSM buffs, there seemed to be a few potential suitors. After all, I have a clean record, wide smile and impeccable hygiene. The reality was rife with rejection. The laughs continued that evening with the Shopware team for Happy Hour in Chinatown and a few games of craps. Because Shoptalk is such a huge event, its exhibit hall had a lot to offer and is where our team spent much of the show.
