Some, but not all, of Snap-on's "heritage" product line - ratchets, wrenches, sockets and such - have date code stampings designating the tool's year of manufacture. The same codes are present on some Blue Point, Bahco and Kobalt tools which were manufactured under the Snap-on corporate umbrella. On the combination wrench in front of me, the date code is between the part stamping and the patent. Some of my Snap-on wrenches have no date code.
