Dating slingerland drums

Slingerland 5.5 x 14 Silver Veil Pearl Snare Drum -1958 (Date Samped)

Years ago I bought a set of used Slingerland drums and I have no idea what era they're from or how much they may be worth. Does anyone have any knowledge of serial numbers, or know where I could get this information online or elsewhere through the serial numbers? Please describe the badges. Toms did not have serial numbers until about Gold and black Niles badges were used from , Silver and black Niles badges after that.

The History of Slingerland Drums

The kit is in marble lacquer which is a hand painted finish resulting in no two drums ever looking exactly alike. My cousin, Dean Stewart who lives in Alabama, is a drummer and vintage drum collector yes, the disease runs in the family.
