One popular London eatery has taken this to the next level, giving diners an experience they truly won't get elsewhere - however, you might not want to wear your best clothes as it could get messy. Dans Le Noir? Visitors who dine at the establishment eat their meals in pitch black, with the whole menu being a surprise.

They say love is blind. I decided to put this to the test. He looked like he did in the photos, tall and dark-haired. We entered the restaurant through a door with blackened windows. In a bizarre reversal of roles, the guided became the guide. Sounds of chatter rang out, but I could see only blackness.

A night without taking a photo, whatever next. Our favourite bit about Dans Le Noir? It was featured in the film, About Time, which we just happen to share a name with.
