Jodi Byron is a police detective whose backstory revealed that she was in a relationship with Daniel the film's secondary protagonist. Shortly after hooking up, Jodi quickly moved in with Daniel, and became controlling towards Daniel during their relationship, leading to constant arguments. One spat centered around Jodi's belief that Daniel was cheating on her with women who matched with him on an app that he placed himself on after their breakup, with Daniel denying the claims. Daniel and Jodi got back together briefly, but they engaged in another argument a month prior to the film's events.
