LoginI suppose I just need some advice or words of wisdom. I feel sort of stuck. But at the same time, I am. Any help or words of advise are more than welcome and certainly appreciated. We both come from families of divorce.
I have been with a man for nearly 10 years, since we were students. Together we have been through many ups and downs, yet we are still together even now. I have always imagined our future with a happy wedding, and I would love to have our own children. However, I feel that my boyfriend is not truly interested in building a family together. Even though I am sure he still needs me by his side, I can feel his emptiness whenever we have a fight. He can share everything in his life and his work with me without getting bored, yet I have never heard him say anything about getting married.
My ex tragically died a year before we met, and the current relationship was completely unexpected and refreshing, as I had no plans to ever love again. He, too, had been single for a year prior to our dating.
I, for the life of me, cannot understand how a woman ever finds herself in this predicament. Men tend to carry the most blame when situations like this are queued up for discussion. If a woman is dating a man for 10 years or more , she has every right to ask that man if marriage is on the table. Two things here, ladies. One, this is your life.
