LoginIn an era when a single click can bring almost anything to your doorstep, the silent orchestrator of our online shopping gratification often goes unnoticed: the logistics system. Imagine waiting for your eagerly anticipated purchase only to be enveloped in ambiguity about its arrival. Such scenarios underscore the vital role of efficient logistics and tracking systems in e-commerce. Here, the integration of Shopify with premier shipping carriers like DPD CH and the deployment of specialized order tracking apps shine as critical to enhancing customer experiences. As we delve into the essence of e-commerce logistics, it's clear it's not merely about transporting products from point A to point B but about crafting transparent and dependable customer journeys. The digital age has revamped our shopping habits, heightening expectations for instant gratification and transparency. This shift propels shipping and order tracking from backstage operational tasks to front-line drivers of customer satisfaction. Technology stands at the helm of meeting these evolving demands, paving the way for platforms like Shopify and its ecosystem of apps to make a difference. Shopify emerges as a beacon for businesses navigating the online retail landscape, bolstered by a vast ecosystem encompassing various shipping carriers integration and a suite of apps aimed at refining the e-commerce experience.

In this workshop, we invite researchers and practitioners as participants in co-designing the protocol for the world's largest Distributed Participatory Design DPD project with children. Participatory Design-whose inclusive benefits are broadly recognised in design-can be very challenging, especially when involving children. Recent key barriers include social distancing and government-imposed social restrictions due to the additional health risks to vulnerable children and their families. This disrupts traditional in-person PD which involves close socio-emotional and often physical collaboration between participants and researchers. However, alongside such barriers, we have identified opportunities for new and augmented approaches to PD across distributed geographies, backgrounds, ages and abilities. Together, we offer new ways to think about DPD, and unpick some of its ambiguities.
