For the fitness conscious there is the 15km scenic walk and cycle track that meanders around the riverside and beachfront. This is "On Leash" Pet Friendly. Golf and Bowls are all a short stroll from the park. Fishing is a popular past time with the park backing onto Boyne River it provides opportunity for a great catch with popular estuary fish such as barramundi, bream, flathead, mangrove jack, grunter and whiting on offer. This is a three day fishing contest for fishermen of all levels with great prizes on offer. And of course there is the beautiful Tannum Sands beach for all the family just down the road. Mt Larcom is very popular, taking a full days walk up and down the mountain and the views from the top are magical.
The event attracts some fifteen thousand fun loving anglers thanks to the beautiful environment, two hundred and fifty thousand dollars in drawn prizes, and best of all some magic fishing! Situated in the magnificent Gladstone Region this event is iconic with locals but those further afield are only just starting to cotton on. The area has always produced good catches of sizable saltwater Barra but it has become the meter plus Barra capital since the freshwaters of Awoonga Dam spilled during the last two floods.

HookUp History
The end of the year is upon us and already we are anticipating some great local events in the Gladstone region next year, including the Boyne Tannum HookUp. Tickets are officially on sale now for the HookUp and an entry could be a winning Christmas present for that fishing enthusiast in the family. In its 22 nd year, the Boyne Tannum HookUp will attract thousands of families from all over Australia and internationally to Bray Park to take part in the fishing competition. Tickets are on sale until 3pm Friday the 28 th of April or until sold out.
